Load the starter list
A researched list of London gluten-free places and dishes, gathered from gluten-free guides and blogs. Each place is checked on Google Maps, so closed ones are skipped, and every dish links to the guide it came from. It's safe to run again.
Add places you know
One place per line, with the area after a comma if you know it. Add what they have after a dash, e.g. Dijon, Hampstead - pizza, bagels, doughnuts. Places are matched on Google Maps; market stalls and pop-ups Google doesn't list are pinned to their area. Places with no dishes listed get a quick deep search (about 5p each) so there's something to show.
1Import places from Google
Adds gluten-free-friendly restaurants, bakeries and cafés in each area you tick, with ratings and hours. They appear on the site once they have a dish, from a scan, a deep search or your own find.
2Scan restaurant websites
Off: this needs a Claude key, which costs money. Everything else works without it.
Reads each place's website, menu pages and allergen PDFs, and has Claude list the gluten-free dishes. Starts with 100% gluten-free places and places that already have dishes. Usually well under 1p per place. Stop whenever you like; it picks up where it left off.
Re-read websites: reads again the websites of places already on the site, with the latest instructions (which now also list naturally gluten-free dishes like corn tacos, beans, rice and roasts). Uses the cheapest Claude model and skips big PDF menus when a menu page has enough, so it's roughly 0.5p per place.
Find cuisines that are mostly gluten free
Off: this needs a Claude key, which costs money. Everything else works without it.
Mexican, Indian, tapas, Thai, vegan and similar menus are full of naturally gluten-free dishes even when nothing is labelled. This finds those restaurants in the areas you pick and reads each menu with common sense (corn tacos, rice, dal, grilled meats), flagging fried food and anything that needs checking. Unlabelled dishes are marked as inferred and hidden in Coeliac mode. Roughly 0.5p per restaurant, about 5 to 10p per cuisine per area.
3Deep search the web by dish
Off: this needs a Claude key, which costs money. Everything else works without it.
Claude searches gluten-free blogs and guides, restaurant and bakery websites, menus, reviews and Reddit for each dish you pick. Only dishes a page actually names at a place are added, each with a link to its source. About a minute and roughly 10p per dish.
4Deep search the web by place
Off: this needs a Claude key, which costs money. Everything else works without it.
Goes through your places one by one (most-reviewed first) and searches the web for each one's gluten-free dishes. Places searched in the last 60 days are skipped. Roughly 5p per place, so stop whenever you like.
Review recent additions
The newest dishes added, from any source. Tick anything that looks wrong and remove it. Only that source is removed; a dish that other sources back up stays.
